Cruises To Three-Game Victory Over San Diego State; 15-5, 15-2, 15-7
SAN DIEGO - Arizona posted a school record .483 team hitting percentage,
committing just nine hitting errors in 89 attempts, while coasting to their
first victory of the season.
The Wildcats defeated host San Diego State in three games, 15-5, 15-2,
15-7, in their second match of the SDSU Diggin' It 2000 Tournament on
Saturday afternoon. The win improves Arizona's record to 1-1.
Sophomore outside hitters Lisa Rutledge and Shannon Torregrosa, both
natives of San Diego, led the way for the Wildcats with 13 and 9 kills,
respectively.
San Diego State registered only four team blocks and was out-dug by the
Wildcats 36-23.
Arizona takes on the University of San Diego at 7:30 p.m. PDT today to
close out the tournament. The Toreros beat SDSU yesterday in three games.
