Baseball Falls 21-9 To Long Beach State

  • Box Score
  • TUCSON, Ariz.- The Arizona Baseball team dropped a 21-9 decision to Long Beach State at home Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats committed six errors in the game, including four in a four run 49er second inning. Long Beach cracked out 25 hits off of five Arizona pitchers.

The defeat is Arizona's fourth consecutive loss, the longest winless streak since 1999 when the Cats lost six in-a-row.

Offensively, Shelley Duncan, Erik Torres and Brian Anderson all notched a pair of hits for UA on the afternoon. Clayton Bried, Brad Hassey and Duncan each drove in two runs apiece. Duncan also clobbered his third home run of the season in the second inning, leaving him just two shy of breaking Kenny Corley's school record for career round trippers.
