LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- The Arizona baseball team defeated the 23rd-ranked
UCLA Bruins 9-6 Sunday afternoon to win its Pac-10 opening series two games
to one. The win improves the Wildcats to 16-11 for the season and 2-1 in
Pac-10 play.
Junior Shelley Duncan was impressive in the win, going 3-for-4 with three
RBI and three runs scored. He also hit his 11th home run of the season in the
ninth. Freshman Moises Duran, making only his third career start, went
2-for-4 with two, two-out RBI in the game. Joe Little earned his third
victory of the season, tossing three innings of relief of starter Chris
Goodman. Rob Elias came on with two out in the ninth to end the game and pick
up his third save.
The Wildcats return to action Wednesday night when they host Houston for
a single game at Sancet Field. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
