Baseball Stumbles To 9-3 Loss To Houston

    TUCSON, Ariz.- The Arizona baseball team dropped a 9-3 decision to Houston at Frank Sancet Field Wednesday night. The Wildcats committed four errors and collected only four hits in the loss. Houston scored three runs in the first, one each in the second and third, two in the fourth and one each again in the fifth and seventh of six different UA pitchers. The defeat drops the Wildcats' overall record to 16-12 for the season.

    Freshman Hyung Cho did the majority of the damage for the Cougars. Houston's designated hitter finished the game 4-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored. Teammate Sean Allen was 3-for-4 with two runs driven in and a run scored.

    Nick Torina came on in relief to even his record at 1-1 for the Cougars. Wildcat starter Brian Pemble was tagged for the loss after lasting only 1.2 innings.

    The Wildcats return to action on Friday as Southern Utah pays a visit to the Old Pueblo for a three game set. First pitch is set for 7 p.m. and will be broadcast live on KNST.
