FEDERAL WAY, Wash. -- The University of Arizona men's and women's diving
teams completed their first day of competition at the 2001 Zone E Diving
Championships. The event is being held at the Weyerhaeuser King County
Aquatic Center. In all there are 19 schools and 58 athletes competing at the
meet.
On the men's one meter event junior Omar Ojeda captured first place
scoring 358.60 points. Wildcat junior Ruben Vaca scored 311.45 points to
place sixth in the event. Freshman Josh Anderson held onto sixth place
posting 284.95 points.
On the women's side of the event senior Lindsay Berryman scored 455.35
points on the three meter putting her in sixth place. Freshman Claire Febvay
earned 447.35 points to place eighth on the three meter.

The meet will be concluded tomorrow with the men's three meter and the
women's one meter events beginning at 11 a.m. PST. The platform event will
start at 4 p.m. PST to finish out the meet.
