TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Defensive end Joe Tafoya, a seventh-round draft pick from
Arizona, signed a three-year contract Wednesday with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Tafoya had 165 tackles, 24 sacks and 49 tackles for losses in four seasons
with the Wildcats.
The signing leaves the Bucs with three unsigned draft choices, first-round
offensive tackle Kenyatta Walker, fourth-round safety John Howell and
seventh-round tight end Dauntae' Finger.
First-year defensive end Matt Sweeney was released. He failed a team
physical after injuring a shoulder this summer while playing for NFL Europe's
Amsterdam Admirals.
