It's the last chance to make reservations for the Lute Olson Tribute
reception. The Tucson community has a once in a lifetime opportunity to
witness Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame President and CEO, John Doleva
present Coach Olson with his Hall of Fame jacket and ring. Because Coach
Olson was unable to attend the actual enshrinement in Springfield, Mass.,
the Hall of Fame is coming to Tucson.
On Tuesday, November 26, 2002, The University of Arizona Athletics
Department and the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame will be hosting
a Lute Olson Tribute Reception. The event will include a hosted bar and
several local restaurants are providing food: Barrio Bar and Grill, Bistro
Zin, Dakota Caf?, Kingfisher Bar and Grill, P.F. Changs, Sakura, Sullivan's
Steakhouse, and Wildflower.
The Lute Olson Hall of Fame Tribute will be held at the Sheraton El
Conquistador from 6:30pm -8:30pm, and will give fans a unique chance to see
the enshrinement video, hear Coach Olson speak and congratulate him on his
induction.
The ticket price is $85 a person with $50 being a tax-deductible donation.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Athletics Department, the Naismith
Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and the Bobbi Olson Endowment for Ovarian
Cancer Research at the Arizona Cancer Center.
