Dec. 10, 2003
TUCSON, Ariz.- Record-breaking sophomore Kim Glass was named to the All-Pacific Region team, the AVCA announced on Wednesday. The honor is the second in her two-year Arizona career and marks the fifth straight season the Wildcats have had at least one player represented on the postseason team.
Glass, who is eligible for All-America honors with Wednesday's all-region selection, finished the 2003 campaign with a school single season record 650 kills, 94 more then her previous mark of 556 she posted in her freshman year. The outside hitter recorded double digit kills in 31 of Arizona's 32 matches in 2003, including a school record 18 contests with 20 or more and three with 30 or more.
The Pacific-10 Conference was well represented on the postseason all-region team, garnering nine of the 12 spots. Defending national champions and current No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament USC had four of its members named, while Stanford finished with three players honored, including the Pacific Region Freshman of the Year, and Cal and Washington added one player each.
