FRANKLIN, Tenn. ?- After a strong start at the Mason Rudolph Championship the Arizona women's golf team slipped to 11th in Franklin, Tenn.
The Wildcats shot a 24-over-par 600 to trail tournament leader UCLA by 23 strokes after the Bruins shot a 1-over-par 577. Georgia (581) and Duke (584) are in second and third, respectively. Texas slipped from second after the first round, to fourth by carding a 298 (+10) in round two. Missouri rounds out the top-five after shooting a 15-over-par 591.
Individually, juniors Lani Elston and Cassandra Kirkland leads the Wildcats after both shooting a 5-under-par 149 to tie for 26th.
Senior Miriam Kraschinski shot a 78 (+6) in today’s second round. Senior Mar Garcia and Whitney Welch are tied for 52nd at 9-over-par 153.
The Wildcats will tee off tomorrow at 8:15 a.m. (EST) in tomorrow’s final round. The tournament is being contested at Vanderbilt Legends Club, Par 72 over a 6,254-yard layout.
