WHAT'S HAPPENING: The second-seeded University of Arizona women's basketball team (24-7) will be looking to prove it is THE Pac-10 champion when it faces No. 1 seed Stanford in the championship game of the Pac-10 Tournament on Monday, Mar. 8. The contest will tip at 7:30 p.m. PST and will be broadcast live nationally on Fox Sports Net. All of the Cats' postseason games can be heard live in Tucson on KJLL 1330 AM and over the internet at www.arizonaathletics.com.
This contest is a rematch of last year's tournament title game, when then-ninth-ranked Stanford logged a 59-49 win over the Wildcats on Mar. 10, 2003. This year, Arizona tied the Cardinal for the Pac-10 regular-season championship, each finishing 14-4 in league action. The title was the first for the Arizona program.
