AUSTIN, Texas - Junior Alex Aybar and Sophomore Caleb Marquardt advance to
the third round of pre-qualifying at the Reebok/ITA Men's All-American
Singles Championships, Saturday.
Aybar, beat Troy States' Willy Campos in the first round, 4-6, 7-6(0), 6-2.
In the second round he defeated S.E. Louisiana's Damiisa Robinson, 6-0, 6-2.
Caleb Marquardt earned a win against Sean O'Connor of Baylor, 7-6(0), 6-3.
Going into the second round he beat out Henry Choi of Indiana State, 7-5, 6-1.
Freshman Tom Lloyd was upset, 5-6, 6-7(0), in a close match against Daniel
Iniesta of UALR.
Senior Michal Stopa dropped the match to Jarin Skube of Texas A&M, 6-4, 4-6
2-6.
Sophomore Bruno Arapovic fell in the first round to Michigan's Brad
McFarlane, 3-6, 6-4, 5-7,despite winning one of the three matches.
Senior Alex Brown was defeated by Kai Rieke of Nebraska, 1-6, 1-6
In doubles play, due to a bye, Arapovic and Marquardt along with Aybar and
Stopa will advance to second round play.
Lloyd and Brown fell to partners Luciano Diez and Daniel Iniesta of UALR in
a close match,8-9.
The Wildcats will continue play tomorrow at 9a.m.
