Arizona football newcomers will report to fall camp Thursday, Aug. 2, for the initial fall camp under news head coach John Mackovic.
Mackovic and staff completed spring practice with the Spring Game on April 21, head into a month of recruiting evaluation in the ensuing weeks, then continue preparations for fall camp. The Wildcats open the season at San Diego State on Thursday, Aug. 30, and start fall drills about five days earlier than all Pac-10 teams except Washington State, which also opens the season Aug. 30, against Idaho.
For the first time since 1981, Arizona will hold fall camp on campus. The UA traveled 100 miles southeast to Cochise College near Douglas for training camp each of the past 19 seasons.
