TUCSON, Ariz.- Marc Kaiser added to Arizona baseball's postseason list of accolades Monday afternoon having been named second-team Freshman All-America by the publication Baseball America. The first-year Wildcat, who was named the utility player on the postseason squad, finished his inaugural campaign with an 8-6 record in 101 innings pitched for the Wildcats while also batting .436 in 39 at bats. He placed second on the Arizona freshman records list in wins and starts (17) and finished third and fourth, respectively, for freshman pitchers in innings pitched and strikeouts (70).
Kaiser, an honorable mention All-America by Collegiate Baseball, joins classmates Brian Anderson (Freshman All-American, Collegiate Baseball) and Sean Rierson (Honorable mention Freshman All-American, Collegiate Baseball), junior Shelley Duncan (First-team All-American, Collegiate Baseball, The Sporting News and Baseball Weekly) and senior Ernie Durazo (Third-team All-American, Collegiate Baseball) for postseason recognition.
