LOS ANGELES - Arizona freshman Debbie Larocque advanced to the third round
of the prequalifying draw at the ITA All-American Tournament in Los Angeles
Saturday.
In the first round, Larocque outlasted Texas-El Paso's Elizabeth Stone,
6-4, 5-7, 6-0, and won in straight sets over Northwestern's Shannon Duffy,
6-4, 6-3, in her second round match.
Larocque will face Boise State's Renate Stoop in the third round that is
set to begin Sunday at 9 a.m. PDT.
With a victory, Larocque will advance to the qualifying draw that will
begin Tuesday.
In doubles action, Larocque and teammate, freshman Sophie Regnier, earned a
first round bye and will face Texas-El Paso's duo of Jana Perkova and Ana
Brnas in the second round. The match is slated to begin Sunday at noon PDT.
