Ben Anderson -- Fly/IM

JUNIOR (1999-00): Competed in three events at the 2000 NCAA Championships... Finished 13th in all three events, the 200m IM (2:00.91), the 400m IM (4:17.69) and the 200m butterfly (1:58.65)... Also earned honorable mention All-America honors for all three events... At the 2000 Pac-10 meet, placed 10th in the 200 fly (1:47.32), 16th in the 400 IM (4:00.40) and 19th in the 200 IM (1:51.15)... Currently the fastest Arizona swimmer in the 200m IM (1:59.83) and the 400m IM (4:17.54) and is also the second fastest Wildcat in the 200m breaststroke (2:54.46) and the 200m fly (1:58.65).

SOPHOMORE (1998-99): At the 1999 NCAA Championships earned honorable mention All-America selections in the 200 butterfly and the 200 individual medley... Finished 14th in the 200 fly in a time of 1:47.13... Placed 15th in the finals of the 200 IM in a time of 1:48.44... Also competed in the 200 freestyle, finishing in a time of 1:39.12 and in 39th place... At the 1999 Pac-10 Championships, competed in the 200 fly, placing 12th, in a time of 1:48.93... Placed 14th in the 400 IM in a time of 3:57.46...Finished 16th in the 200 IM (1:51.57)... Finished the year with the top Arizona times of the season in the 200 fly (2:46.24; Texas Invitational) and 400 IM (3:57.46)... Second-fastest 200 IM time (1:48.14)... Third-fastest 200 breast time (2:11.16 vs. Northern Arizona)... Fourth-fastest 100 fly time (48.56; Texas Invitational).

FRESHMAN (1997-98): Qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 100 and 200 fly... Earned honorable mention All-America honors in the 200 medley relay... Finished 19th in the 200 butterfly (1:47.17) and 32nd in the 100 butterfly (48.74)... Earned seventh place in the 200 fly at the Pac-10 Championships (1:48.35)... Finished eighth in the 100 fly consolation final (50.63)... Won the 200 fly (1:46.97) at the Texas Invitational... Finished third in the 200IM (1:48.84) at the same meet... 100 and 200 fly times were the fastest Arizona times of the season.

HIGH SCHOOL: Earned four varsity letters for coaches Clark Tingle and Bob Jenkins at Arrowhead High School in Hartland, Wis... At the 1997 Senior Nationals, he finished 15th in the 200 fly (2:03.28)... Finished second in the 100 free (45.79) at the Junior Nationals in the spring of 1997... Swam to a state record in the 200 IM (1:48.66), finishing fourth in the finals at the Boys National High School Championships... At the same meet he set another state record in the 100 fly (48.89)... Also holds the state record in the 500 free (4:42.68)... Named NISCA All-America in the 100 fly (48.89), and the 200 IM (1:48.66)... Swam to a first-place finish in the 100 fly (50.69) and was second in the 200 IM (1:55.94) at the NISCA National High School Championships in Colorado Springs... During the summer of 1996, he finished sixth in the 200 fly (2:02.80) and 13th in the 100 fly (55.56) at the Senior Nationals... At the Junior Nationals in the Spring of 1996, he finished first in the 200 IM (1:50.21), second in the 400 IM (3:56.200), seventh in the 100 back (51.37) and 10th in the 200 back (1:50.85)... High Point Winner at the Junior Nationals in the summer of 1995... Finished fifth in the 100 fly at the Olympic Festival (57.27)... Wisconsin State Champion in the 200 IM three years in a row (95-97), the 100 fly two years in a row (1996-97) and the 100 back (1995).
