Policy:
1. No more than 150 organizations will be provided items within a fiscal year. (Athletics Director's discretion).
2. Items must benefit either the University community, Tucson community, the people of the state of Arizona or a related Alumni organization.
3. Out of town requests will be denied unless it directly relates to the University. The Athletics Department will not incur mailing costs.
4. All balls being signed must be provided by the organization requesting the ball (basketball, footballs, softballs, etc.).
5. All item(s) must be picked up and a form signed acknowledging such item(s) were received, as well as confirming that the use of said item will be in conformance with NCAA legislation.
6. Borrowed items used as decorations for special events held throughout the community must be requested in writing. Such items will be picked up and a form signed. Items must be returned with in two working days.
7. Men's basketball tickets are not available for charitable donations.
8. Non-conference individual game football tickets might be available (limited number) for charitable donations.
9. Charitable organizations that benefit only youngsters 9th grade and above are not eligible to receive donations from Arizona Athletics.
10. Road Trips are not included as a give-away.
11. Post-season game tickets are not available.
12. Non-revenue sport tickets are available.
13. Only one item per organization per year will be provided. UA Departments will receive no more than 3 items per event.
14. Corporations (for-profit businesses) or are not eligible to receive items. They are encouraged to attend the department's dinner and auction, and will be added to the invitation mailing list.
15. Individuals are not eligible to receive items for private use. Our donations are given to non-profits to help the state and the community.
Procedures:
1. All requests must be in writing to the Office of Public Relations and Special Events. Do not send additional requests to head coach or other areas within the Athletics Department.
2. Request must include:
a. Name of organization requesting item(s).
b. Item(s) being requested.
c. The date the item(s) is needed.
d. Purpose of item(s) (e.g. auction, raffle, etc.).
e. Who will benefit from the proceeds (for example, elderly, individuals with disabilities, etc.)
f. List age range of group benefiting.
g. Contact name, address and phone number.
3. Must provide a minimum of two weeks notice or request will not be filled.
4. All requests will receive a response within two weeks of date requested.
5. The Public Relations and Special Events Office will work in conjunction with the units ultimately responsible for items requested (e.g. McKale Ticket Office, Equipment Room, Basketball Office, etc.).
6. The Compliance Office will be contacted for approval of any requests that might involve NCAA regulations.
