TOKYO, Japan ?- The Arizona women's golf team is tied for first with Tohoku Fukushi at the 2004 Topy Cup Tuesday after its first day of competition in Tokyo, Japan.
The Wildcats shot a 8-over-par 296 to tie with Tohoku Fukushi. Florida is in third at 13-over-par 301.
Individually, senior Miriam Kraschinski leads the Wildcats tied for third with Nagoya Commerce’s K. Dohi after shooting a 1-under-par 71 in round one.
Junior Cassandra Kirkland is tied in fifth after shooting 1-over-par 73. Senior Mar Garcia is tied for 10th at 3-over-par 75. Junior Lani Elston is tied for 14th place after shooting 5-over-par 77 in round one. While junior Whitney Welch shot a 9-over-par 81 to tie for 27th.
The Wildcats will tee off in Wednesday’s second round. The tournament is being held at Tanagura Densha Country Club.
