Nogales High School, Nogales, Ariz.: Earned five varsity letters between track and field and cross country... Named team captain for three years... Won the team’s most valuable athlete award for three years... Earned first-team all-region and all-state honors in the 400m during the 2002 season... State champion on the 400m... Won the 400m at the Luke Greenway Meet of Champions... Holds school records in the 100m (12.4), 200m (25.5), 400m (57.6) and 800m (2:20)... Placed fourth in the high jump at the 1998 Junior Nationals meet.
