2005 (Redshirt Junior): Returns to the Wildcats for his third season... Should be a player for the Wildcats at the conference level... 2004 (Junior): Forced to sit out the entire season due to injury... 2003 (Sophomore): Had a strong 2003 season during both cross country and track... Finished 17th at the Aztec Cross Country Invitational and 25th at the ASU Invitational... Finished the track season with a best time of 1:52.02 in the 800 meters... Named to the Pac-10 All-Academic first team, as well as the MPSF All-Academic team... 2002 (Freshman): Had the team’s fastest 800m time at the double-dual meet with Arizona State and Northern Arizona, clocking a 1:52.69... Ran on the 4x400m relay team several times during the 2002 season.

 

High School

Poway High School, Poway, Calif.: Four-time letterwinner in both cross country and track and field... Placed 11th at the California CIF state meet... Earned all-state honors twice in track and field for the 800m... First-team All-CIF selection in the San Diego Section for cross country... Named Most Valuable Athlete at his high school... Member of the National Honor Society... Selected to the scholastic All-CIF team.... Won the CIF Sportsmanship/Citizenship Award... Winner of the San Diego’s Finest Citizen/Athlete Award... Received the President’s Student Service Award.

 

Personal: Aaron James Powell... Born March 4, 1983, in San Dimas, Calif... Son of Steve and Debbie Powell... Enjoys playing the piano and trout fishing... Academic area of interest is biology, with an interest in pursuing a career in the biotech industry.
