TUCSON, Ariz. ?- Arizona women's golfer junior Lani Elston was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VIII University Women’s At-Large Team this week.
The native of Spokane, Wash., carries a grade point average of 3.922 in music. In 2004, Elston was also recognized for her excellence in academics by earning first team All-Pac-10 Academic, along with being recognized as a NGCA Scholar.
Elston was an important part of the Wildcat’s season, averaging a 75.25 stroke average in all 11 UA events. Individually, she was named Pac-10 honorable mention in early May, after she tied for 23rd (78-76-75?-229) at the Pac-10 Championships. In February, Elston shot her collegiate-low three round score at the Wildcat Invitational (68-73-71?-212).
