Sophomore guard meets eligibility requirements
TUCSON, Ariz. ?- University of Arizona men’s basketball player Jawann McClellan has met academic requirements necessary for reinstatement and is eligible for the Spring semester. He will be in uniform Thursday when the Wildcats play at Oregon State.
McClellan, a 6-foot-4 sophomore guard from Houston, Texas, was ruled academically ineligible during the Fall semester. As a freshman in 2004-05, McClellan averaged 5.8 points and 3.0 rebounds, while shooting 46.8 percent (73-of-156) from the field, in 37 appearances. His 39.3 (24-of-61) three-point field goal percentage ranked second on the team.
No. 24 Arizona (10-4, 3-1 Pac-10), will next be in action at Gill Coliseum, Jan. 12, when the team plays at OSU. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. PST and can be seen on FSN Arizona.
