Will miss the remainder of the season
TUCSON, Ariz. ?- University of Arizona men’s basketball player Jawann McClellan underwent successful surgery Thursday to repair a torn ligament in his left (non-shooting) wrist. He will miss the remainder of the season.
McClellan, a 6-foot-4 sophomore guard from Houston, Texas, is averaging 4.0 points and 1.5 rebounds in two games this season. He regained his academic eligibility on Jan .11. Last season, McClellan averaged 5.8 points and 3.0 rebounds, while shooting 46.8 percent (73-of-156) from the field in 37 appearances.
Arizona (10-6, 3-3 Pac-10) next will be in action tonight when the Wildcats host Stanford at 8:30 p.m. MST. The game can be seen nationally on Fox Sports Net.
