At the University of Florida: Was an All-American in 2004 and 2005 for the 100 and 200 free.
Prep: Was swim team captain in 2002... Also played water polo during high school.
National/International Competition: 2004- Competed in the Olympic Games for South Africa where he was part of the gold medal 400 free relay team (3:13.17) along with University of Arizona alumni Lyndon Ferns, Ryk Neethling and Roland Schoeman
