Art Approvals

Licensed Vendors

Retail Art Approval Requests
Retail approval requests from licensed vendors should be submitted through the Collegiate Licensing Company website (www.clc.com). Only artwork submitted by an officially licensed vendor will be approved.

 

Official UA Departments, Clubs and Organizations may submit art approval requests directly to the Trademarks and Licensing Office, when the production request for use of The University of Arizona's registered (or common law) trademarks, trade names, service marks, or logos is made by the official department, club or organization of The University of Arizona and is not intended for retail (i.e. resold for profit).

 

Please follow these steps for Official UA Department, Club or Organization art approval requests ONLY:

1.      Go to http://www.athletics.arizona.edu/artapproval/ and click on “Start a new art approval application.”

2.      Complete the online application. Note: There are three boxes for additional email addresses of parties who should also receive notification of the approval (i.e. vendor, advisor, purchasing agent).

3.      Upload the file(s) of the color artwork sample of the item(s) with logo placement. (Click for an example of color artwork sample of item)

4.      Confirm your submission by clicking on the “Confirm Submission” button.

5.      A confirmation email will be sent to confirm that your request was submitted.

6.      Please allow up to 48 hours for submissions to be reviewed.

7.      An approval status notification will be emailed with one of the following status indications:

?         Approved: Request is approved for production.

?         Approved with Changes: Request is approved but requires one or more changes that must be made before final production.

?         Disapproved: Request is not approved. Changes must be made and approval request must be resubmitted for approval before production begins.

8.   The royalty payment, if applicable, will be indicated in the status email.

 

Royalty Rates
An 8.5% royalty will apply if the item being produced is intended for retail (i.e. resold for profit)

 

A 10% royalty will apply if the artwork includes one or more sponsor logos ?- regardless of whether the item will be sold or not. (The royalty rate is applied to the total gross invoice amount).

 

There is not a royalty applied for items produced as UA department, club or organization giveaways that do not include one or more sponsor logos, or for artwork that does not include an official UA logo/mark.
