Successful surgery took place on April 19

TUCSON, Ariz. ?- University of Arizona men’s basketball player Jawann McClellan had successful surgery on his right knee last Wednesday.  He anticipates being ready for the start of practice in October.

McClellan, a 6-foot-4 sophomore guard from Houston, Texas, had surgery to repair the cartilage in his right knee.

“They just went in and cleaned things out,” said McClellan.  I feel good about how it went and am looking forward to getting healthy and back on the court.”

McClellan averaged 4.0 points and 1.5 rebounds in two games this season.  He suffered a torn ligament in his left wrist on Jan. 14, which was surgically repaired on Jan. 19.
