STANFORD, Calif. ?- Arizona freshman Danielle Steinberg saw her freshman campaign come to a close Wednesday, as she fell in two sets to Helena Besovic of Texas Christian University at the NCAA Division I women’s tennis championships.
No. 37 Steinberg, the lone Wildcat to earn an at-large bid in the singles tournament, fell in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1, to No. 27 Besovic at the Taube Tennis Center.
Steinberg helped lead the Wildcats to a First Round upset over No. 28 Brigham Young on May 12 in the team championships. The Wildcats lost the next day to eventual national champion, Stanford.
