October 26, 2006 through January 7, 2007:
Iona Rozeal Brown
Iona Rozeal Brown's works are a cross-cultural hybrid. She fuses traditional Japanese art forms with modern references to Hip Hop culture. The work responds to the Ganguro phenomenon in Japan, the trend of Japanese youth imitating and adopting the cultural symbols and practices of African American Hip Hop.
