Junior forward to miss three to six weeks
TUCSON, Ariz. ?- University of Arizona men’s basketball player Bret Brielmaier Monday had successful arthroscopic surgery on his right knee. He is expected to be sidelined for three to six weeks.
Brielmaier, a 6-foot-6, 237-pound forward from Mankato, Minn., suffered the injury during practice on Jan. 4. The junior was averaging 1.5 points and 2.2 rebounds in 11 appearances. He was averaging 9.4 minutes per game.
Tenth-ranked Arizona (12-2, 3-1 Pac-10) will next be in action on Thursday, Jan. 1, vs. Oregon State. The game is scheduled to tip off at 6:30 p.m. MST and can be seen on FSN Arizona.
