Seven XC Athletes Earn All-Academic Consideration

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – Seven members of The University of Arizona men’s and women’s cross country teams earned All-Academic accolades from the Pacific-10 Conference Thursday as announced by conference commissioner Larry Scott.

 

Senior Jordan Mara and sophomore Megan Meyer both tabbed first-team honors for the men and women, respectively, while sophomore Rory McLeod was named to the All-Academic second-team.

 

Mara, a marketing senior, has posted a cumulative 3.73 GPA during his tenure at Arizona as a student in the esteemed Eller College of Management.  Mara earned second team honors during the last cross country season as a junior and was an honorable mention as a sophomore.

 

Meyer, who was named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team as well last season, has posted a 4.0 GPA in Biosystems Engineering. 

 

McLeod earned second-team honors by posting a 3.81 GPA in Pre-Business as he will also attempt to enter the Eller College of Management within the year. 

 

Also notching honors for Arizona were redshirt sophomores James Eichberger (3.12 GPA) and Noe Ramirez (3.11 GPA) for the men and senior Maggie Callahan (3.37 GPA) and junior Hannah Moen (3.17 GPA).

 

To earn consideration for the Pac-10 All-Academic teams, the student-athletes must maintain a minimum 3.00 GPA and be either a starter or significant contributor to the team.
