TUCSON, Ariz. - University of Arizona men's golfer Tarquin MacManus was named to the PING all-region team, as selected by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
MacManus, a junior from Cairns, Queensland, Australia, was an all-West region selection. He was one of 28 golfers to earn such accolades, including 20 Pac-10 student-athletes. It marks the second consecutive year in which MacManus was an all-region honoree.
He led the Wildcats with a 71.65 scoring average and was UA's top finisher in seven of 13 appearances. He had four top-10 finishes to his credit and 23 of his 40 rounds played were at par or better, including 11 rounds in the 60s with a low of 66. MacManus claimed individual medalist honors at the Braveheart Classic in March and tied for fifth place at the NCAA Southwest Regional.
MacManus has earned postseason accolades - all-conference, all-region or All-American - in each of his three seasons with the program.
