Game in Stillwater Tabbed for ESPN

Game in Stillwater Tabbed for ESPN

April 29, 2011

ESPN, the Big 12 Conference and Oklahoma State have announced that Arizona's September football road trip to Stillwater will switch to Thursday, Sept. 8, for a national broadcast by the cable giant.

Kickoff in Boone Pickens Stadium has been set for 7 p.m. CDT (5 p.m. MST/PDT). The game originally was scheduled for Sept. 10.

The pick gives Arizona three known television appearances on the ESPN family, with the Sept. 24 Oregon game in Tucson to be shown by either ESPN or ESPN2 and a Thursday, Oct. 20, tilt against UCLA in Tucson scheduled for ESPN. Both are night games.

The Pac-12 Conference's next round of early television selections is slated for next week, with other games potentially to be chosen by league partners ABC/ESPN, FSN and Versus. Eleven of Arizona's 2010 contests were aired by one of those networks.

The game in Stillwater is a rematch of the 2010 Valero Alama Bowl won by Oklahoma State, 36-10, and will feature -- at least -- a pair of dynamic receivers in Arizona's senior Juron Criner and OK State's junior Justin Blackmon, plus the two quarterbacks who get them the ball, UA's Nick Folesa and OSU's Brandon Weedon. Arizona's four turnovers in the bowl game helped swing the tide for the Cowboys, who finished 12-1 while dropping the Wildcats to a 7-6 mark.
