Isabelle Boineau, a member of the University of Arizona Wildcat women's golf team, got some practice and competition experience during the winter break as she participated in the Dixie Amateur Championship, in Coral Springs, Fla., at the Heron Bay Golf Club (par 72). The four-round event took place Dec. 30, 2011-Jan. 2, 2012.
Boineau finished in a three-way tie for 16th place. She carded rounds of 76, 73, 72 and 71 for a four-day score of 292 (+4). She is one of a few Wildcats competing during this offseason. Senior Margarita Ramos will be playing at the Mexican Women's Amateur and Andrea Vilarasau will be playing at an event in her native Spain in the coming weeks.
