Pac-12 Cross Country All-Academic Teams Announced

 TUCSON -  The University of Arizona Wildcats were represented very well on the Pac-12 All-Academic teams, released by the conference office on Thursday. To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.

On the men's side, senior Rory McLeod earned Pac-12 first-team All-Academic accolades. McLeod boasts a 3.79 GPA and is majoring in finance. Sophomores Kenji Bierig and Lawi Lalang earned Pac-12 second-team All-Academic accolades. Bierig is a pre-business major and has a GPA of 3.42 while Lalang has a GPA of 3.29 as a pre-public health major.

For the women, juniors Elvin Kibet and Erin Menefee were named to the Pac-12 first-team All-Academic team. Kibet is a pre-public health major and boasts a GPA of 3.86. Menefee is pursuing a degree in nutritional sciences and has a GPA of 3.95. Sophomore Stephanie Bulder earned Pac-12 second-team All-Academic accolades with a 3.90 GPA as a molecular and cellular biology major. Additionally, three Wildcats were selected to the Pac-12 honorable mention All-Academic team, senior Elizabeth Apgar, junior Melanie McGrath and sophomore Kate Penney.
