He compiled an outstanding record as a golfer for the University of Arizona, winning the Fred Enke Award in 1972 and 1973. He won over $500,000 in his first seven full years on the PGA Tour and finished third in the Vardon Trophy standings in 1983. He consistently provides time and support to Wildcat golf program.
