His round of 63 in 1987 was a new UA record, and he went on to help lead the Wildcats to the 1987 Pac-10 title. He was All Pac-10 in 1985, 1987, and 1988, and earned All America honors in 1987 and 1988. His career stroke average of 74.10 is fifth on UA's all-time list, and he captured six individual tournament titles in his UA career. Turning professional in 1988, he won three tournaments on the Hogan Tour, including the inaugural event in 1990, and, at the time of his induction, was playing on the PGA Tour.
