TUCSON - University of Arizona women's soccer welcomes eight new soccer players to the Wildcat family on National Signing Day, it was announced by head coach Tony Amato on Wednesday. The 2013 recruiting class includes players from Arizona, California, Washington and Texas. This recruiting class will be putting their talents to work for the team during the 2013 season.
The group is heavy with playmakers that can step in and add diversity and creativity to the offensive attack but also includes several defensive-minded players to balance the class.
The class of eight student-athletes will join 18 returning players. The returning group of Wildcats will continue offseason workouts and begin a spring season with four competition dates in late March and continuing through April.
The new recruiting vision and direction for the Arizona soccer is to recruit at the highest level from the best leagues in the country. The goal is to recruit highly competitive, mentally and physically tough, disciplined players that are effective team members. The entire soccer staff and athletic department at the University of Arizona are excited about the future and the direction of the soccer program.
