High School: Westfield High School, Spring, Texas, 2002... Shepard and Jason Martin give Arizona some age balance in the defensive secondary... An aggressive cover corner who had two picks, made 74 tackles and forced 12 fumbles for Westfield, where he was a teammate of recruit Beau Carr... Blocked two kicks on special teams... Reportedly allowed only two touchdown passes all year... A sprinter on the WHS track team, Shepard posted 40 times in the 4.35 range several times from his sophomore through senior years... Arizona's two-year cornerback starter, junior Michael Jolivette, played host to Shepard on his official visit to the campus... Played a role in Westfield High's improvement from an 0-10 record to 12-2 in just three seasons... Recruited by Big East and Big 12 schools... Second-team all-district honors...
