2012 All-Pac-12
2012: Indoors, Bierig ran in two races as a freshman during the indoor season ... He ran the 3,000-meter race at the Razorback Invitational in 8:22.46, earning a 10th-place finish ... At the Husky Classic, Bierig ran the 3K in 8:18.93, good for a 16th-place finish ... Outdoors, he finished in the top 10 in six of the eight races he competed in ... He took second place at the UA-NAU-ASU Double Dual in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:14.79 ... At the Jim Click Shootout, Bierig clocked a time of 9:37.77 in the steeplechase, earning a first-place finish ... He took second in the Willie Williams Classic in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:39.01 ... Bierig earned all-conference honors in the steeplechase, taking seventh place at the Pac-12 Championships with a time of 9:03.94.
2011 (XC): Bierig opened the year at the George Kyte Classic in the 8,000-meter race where he clocked a time of 27:23.1, good for a 14th-place finish ... He took sixth place at the Dave Murray Invitational in the 4.25 mile race with a time of 21:40 ... He competed in the Pac-12 Championships in the 8,000-meter race where he clocked a time of 24:38, good for a 47th-place finish ... He ended the year at the NCAA West Regional by running the 10,000-meter race in 30:47.
HIGH SCHOOL: A graduate of Lewis & Clark High School, he was the team captain his junior and senior year, as well as the MVP sophomore and senior year ... He was first-team all-state for cross country his junior and senior year ... Second-team Nike All-American for the 2010 cross country season ... Holds the school record for the 3,200-meter run ... Was a National Merit Scholar Commended Student and an AP Scholar.
