2009: Staff members are looking forward to see Powell regain his All-American status of year's prior...2008: One of three UA horizontal jumpers to earn all conference honors with his seventh place finish at the Pac-10 Championships...Also earned All-Region honors, finishing in eighth place...Had a season's best jump of 7.58m...Also competed sparingly in the high jump, finishing tenth at the Pac-10 Championships...2007: Indoors, Powell started off the season with a first place at the Lumberjack Invitational in the long jump with a 7.47m jump, and a personal-best time of 22.01 in the 200-meter...Powell also had top-three finishes at the TCR Race Productions Invite and the Dan Dehart Invitational...Outdoors, Powell had second-place finishes in the long jump at the Willie Williams Classic, Arizona International and the Jim Click Shootout...Powell also qualified for the NCAA Regionals in the long jump. 2006: Powell was the team's top freshman in 2006...During the indoor season, he placed second at the MPSF Championships in the long jump (7.50m, 24-7 1⁄4) and eighth in the high jump (1.99m, 6-6 1⁄4)...Outdoors, he placed second at the Pac-10 Championships in the long jump with a personal best jump of 7.69m (25-2 3⁄4), and fourth at the West Region championships in the same event...Powell earned All- American honors at the NCAA Championship meet, placing ninth in the long jump.

Canyon Del Oro High School, Tucson, Ariz.: Earned 11 varsity letters in track and field (four), basketball (three), and football (four)...Selected as team captain of the track team during his senior year...All-city and all-region selection all four years of high school...Holds school records in the long jump, high jump, triple jump and 4x100- meter relay...Also holds the record for most points scored in Canyon Del Oro track history...Won the Great South West Shootout in the long jump and placed second at the Golden West Invitational...Also finished eighth in the event at the Junior National Championships.
