Expected to help lead the UA men back to the national meet... Will be one of the team's top returnees... 2003 (Senior): Did not compete during the 2002 cross country season, saving a redshirt year... Was a top performer in the long distances for the Wildcats during the 2003 track season... Earned a NCAA provisional-qualifying time of 29:31.36, but was just short of being invited to the national meet... Ran some of the teams top times in the 5,000 meters and 1,500 meters... 2002 (Junior): Sat out the 2002 track season, saving a redshirt season... Participated in the 2001 NCAA Cross Country Championships... Team's No. 1 finisher at the Pac-10 Championships, placing 10th in 25:00.1... Finished 18th at the NCAA West Regional, which was hosted by the Wildcats.

Kyle Lee Thomas Goklish... Born September 9, 1980, in Phoenix, Ariz... Son of Gerald and Miriam Alsenay... Has two younger brothers, Blaine Goklish and Jerry Alsenay, and two younger sisters, Martina Goklish and Terressa Alsenay... His mother, Miriam, is a former distance runner for Mesa Community College... Has the desire to obtain his master's degree and then return to the Reservation to help his people... His senior year, his basketball team's assistant coach was Kareem Abdul Jabbar, who wrote the book, "A Season on the Reservation: My Sojourn with the White Mountain Apache," which was based on Goklish's team.
