2004 (Junior): Shields returns to the Wildcats as one of the best throwers in the nation... Expected to be a strong contributor at the conference and national levels in 2004... 2003 (Sophomore): One of the Wildcats top performers in 2003... NCAA outdoor qualifier in the shot put and discus... Placed sixth at the NCAA Indoor Championships, earning All-America honors... Placed second in the discus at the Pac-10 Championships... Battled injury during the outdoor season... Placed second in the first-ever NCAA West Regional in the shot put, where he threw his outdoor best... Finished 10th at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the shot put, earning All-America honors...
