TUCSON, Ariz. – Senior Kieren Thompson received the Student-Athlete of the Summer 2013 Award, given by Arizona’s C.A.T.S. Academics staff.
Thompson was one of four University of Arizona recipients. Others were Gabby Kaufman of soccer, Chelsea Goodacre of softball and Tevin Hood of football.
UA student-athletes are recognized for their outstanding academic effort, demonstrating academic improvement, solid academic performance and evidence of personal character, integrity and standing out as a role model.
Earlier this summer, Thompson was awarded honorable mention Pac-12 All-Academic Honors.
Thompson has resumed training with the men’s tennis team, who will kick off the fall season at the Napa Valley Collegiate Invitational on Fri., Sept. 13.
