An outstanding undergraduate athlete, she was U of A diving champion for four years and a four year member of Desert Mermaids and president of Aquacade, at the same time excelling at volleyball and softball. After raising seven children she returned to swimming competition in 1976 to become one of the greatest masters and senior swimmers in the top 10 in the U.S. in at least seven events and top 10 in the world in five events... Many times National Champion, at the 1989 U.S. Senior Olympics in St. Louis she won five gold medals and three silver... At the 1988 World Masters Championships in Australia and 1989 World Games in Denmark, she won three gold medals, five silver, and two bronze.
