Those associated with Arizona Athletics have come to expect a few certainties during the month of March. Every March from 2002 to 2005, Emily Mason could be counted on by the Wildcats to deliver on the NCAA’s biggest stage.

As a freshman, Emily teamed with Jessica Hayes, Jenny Vanker and Sarah Tolar to capture the 800-yard freestyle relay at the NCAA Championships.  As a sophomore Emily was 2nd in both the 400-yard individual medley and 200-yard butterfly and earned 4 All-America citations.  Emily won the 2004 400-meter freestyle NCAA Championship and set a NCAA record. As a senior, Emily won the 500-yard freestyle NCAA Championship.

In addition, she was awarded the Pac-10 Medal and was honored with the Ruby Award, which recognizes Arizona’s top female student-athlete – the highest honor bestowed upon current student-athletes. Emily entered the Hall of Fame as a 16-time All-American who held six school records at the time of her graduation.
