1996 National Champion Softball Team
The wildcats Won their Fourth NCAA Championship in the past six years, while appearing at the College World Series for their ninth consecutive year under the leadership of head coach Mike Candrea. The Wildcats finished the season with a 58-9 record, placing second in the Pacific-10 Conference and winning the Florida State Regional. Six Wildcats earned All-America honors, five were All-College World Series selections and seven garnered All-Pac-10 honors. Five players were named to the All-Pacific Region Team. In 1996, the Wildcats were a perfect example of dedication and teamwork as they reclaimed their position at the pinnacle of college softball.
