1979 Duet AIAW Synchronized Swimming Championship Team
Fraternal twins Marie and Sara White captured the national synchronized swimming duet routine championship crown in 1979. The skilled duet team was able to perform unique routines because their innate sense of each other's presence. Both Marie and Sarah were also members of the UA team that won the 1979 AIAW Synchronized Swimming Team Routine Championship and were also named AIAW All-Americans. Marie White was also a member of the United States synchronized swimming team that competed in the Pan American games in 1979. Both girls continued with synchronized swimming professionally after college as members of the World Exposition Aquacade Show.
