Overcame chronic injuries for spectacular senior year, becoming two time All America. Was 1984 NCAA Indoor 400 meter champion. During 1984 outdoor season, led U of A to 3rd place finish in the West Coast Athletic Association by winning the 200 meters and 400 meters and anchoring victorious 1600 meter relay. Named WCAA Track and Field Athlete of the week. At 1984 NCAA outdoor championships, was 6th in 400 meters and anchored 5th place 1600 meter relay. At 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, representing her native Kenya, was a semi-finalist in the 200 meters and a finalist in the 400 meters.
