Earning All-American honors in four events in just her freshman year at the U of A, it was easy to see Marshi Smith as a dominating Wildcat. Marshi was named an All-American in 2004 for her 100-meter backstroke performance and the dedicated swimmer also went on to be the 2005 Pac-10 Champion for the backstroke during her junior year. That same year, Marshi went on to be the 2005 National Champion in the 100 meter backstroke with a time of 52.82 and barely missed the Arizona record by .02 seconds.
