Bear Down Beach was completed in December 2013 in preparation for the inaugural beach volleyball season in the spring of 2014. Beach volleyball became the school’s 20th varsity sport when it was announced on Jan. 15, 2013. The facility features five championship courts which contain 18” deep, beach quality, high-end sand. Arizona Athletics has future plans to add grandstands, concessions, restrooms as well as a new front entry.
Located at the corner of Enke Drive and Campbell Avenue at Jimenez Field, Bear Down Beach is centrally located to campus as it is adjacent to McKale Center and directly south of the Hillenbrand Aquatic Center.
Admission to beach volleyball is free and fans are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and/or blankets.
