Arizona Ranked 16th in Preseason DiG Top 20

TUCSON, Ariz. In the first ever DiG Collegiate Sand Volleyball Poll, Arizona Sand Volleyball has been ranked 16th to start the season, the magazine announced.

Pepperdine, which has won two national championships in the sport’s first three years, is ranked first to begin the 2015 season. The Waves are followed by Florida State, USC, Hawaii and Loyola Marymount which round out the top five.

Two of Arizona’s opponents, Tulane and Nebraska, are featured in the top 20 at Nos. 15 and 17, respectively. Pac-12 foes USC (3), UCLA (80) and Stanford (12) are also in the poll while ASU and California are also receiving votes.

The Arizona sand volleyball Team begins its season on March 6 when it hosts the Arizona Invitational. You can get your first look at the 2015 Wildcats on Feb. 28 when UA hosts its annual Red-Blue Scrimmage.
